decrease in phosphorus in water glycol

Dasco FR 205 reference oil sample 39 ppm for Aug
Aug/07 40 ppm
Oct/07 27 ppm
Feb/08 10 ppm

does anyody have any suggestions as to why this additive would decrease. What is the main purpose of phosphorus in water glycol?

Check with lab their method and calibration curve for P. Often this element is calibrated on high line (900 ppm).

Mikoil, is the system a previous conversion from mineral oil to Water Glycol?
IS Phosphorus present in Virgin Dasco 205?
Likelyhood is that this is a contaminant and that The P is being diluted by top ups of fresh fluid.
Levels of P at ~25ppm unlikely to be the additive in Dasaco 205.
Is there Zinc at roughly the same level(ZPPD)?

I second Mr Hughes. P is normally calibrated with 100ppm to 900 ppm fluid. P results are often not reproducible in the lower values.
