Effect of VI Improver in Apparent viscosity and Pour point

Hi Friends,

I would like to know form you all the effects of VI Imprver in oil's apparent Viscosity (CCS) and Pour point. Because we are using high VI improver dosage in our Engine oil formulation in place of 500N or 150BS, I doubt it will increase the CCS and PPD value. I have not yet got chance to analyse CCS for these samples. Its my guess. These formulation contains only 300N and VI improver with additives. Please tell me the effect of high VI improver and to overcome this.

VI Improver directly affects CCS viscosity....

The oil's pour point sometime is changed by polimer IV, it's depend of molecular weigth of polimer, whith polimer to hight vi the pour point could rise to -10°C

Dear Nurudin,

We tested CCS and my finding is that more VI improver will result good CCS value. But optimum VI improver is best. Because if you have more VI Improver it will fail in HTHS test.
