I actually took the plunge into Real estate in Cambodia about three years ago, and it’s been an interesting ride. Cambodia is developing quickly, especially in places like Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, and that has a direct impact on property values. I bought an apartment in Phnom Penh, and honestly, the rental income has been quite steady. Cambodia has this unique appeal—tourists love it, but there’s also a growing expat community. What surprised me most was the relatively low cost of entry compared to other Asian countries, but you do need to be careful with the legal side of things. Land titles and foreign ownership rules can be a bit tricky, so getting a good lawyer is a must. But overall, the market has definitely shown growth, and I feel that it’s one of those places that will only get more popular as infrastructure keeps improving. If you’re okay with a bit of risk and the occasional bureaucratic headache, Cambodia’s got a lot of potential.
