Oil is likely to be ISO 46 PAO food grade(lots available) and preferably should be approved by the OEM.
My dated understanding of the use of lubricants in the food industry is that the aim should be for zero oil contamination, in this case this is not possible(class 1 up to 0.01mg/m3).
What about the use of an oil free compressor for this application still with current filtration to take out other contaminants?(not a very cost effective answer!)
I understand that you are conveying by air, and that the air may content a fog of oil that is not filtered completely. In that case, it is still an 'incidental' food contact and therefore an H1 approved food grade oil is the highest category to be used.

Perhaps the improvements should come from the filtration side, by improving the oil-air separation.
