Hi, I am new to the lubrication side of things as I am primarily a metallurgical engineer. I am looking for a suitable lubricant for a preliminary gearbox design with bevel gears and a SKF 6200 bearing concept. It will experience about a 200 lb load on the bearing due to gear separating forces. If the shaft is supposed to turn at 1800 rpm, what would a good gear lube be for outdoor operations (-40 F to 120 F) (-40C to 50C)? Can a gear lube work with the bearings? Or would the system have to be redesigned to have separate gear and bearing lube chambers?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
