Our Lab analyzes used oil for our customers, we switched from BAIRD AS MOA spectrometer to ICP 8300 DV. I have been observing high Cu and Pb readings for some ENG, TRNS AND HYD compartments. Has someone experienced same issue with Cu and Pb. note we run a QC standard of 20ppm after every 5 samples and the QC readings appear normal.

Typically , ICP irrespective of the Brand have a tendency to illustrate drift.

look at options of having internal standard and QC chk at lower ppm.. depending on where you are seeing the drifts.

Also try to use different wavelengths (line selection).
