increase in viscisity

I hope i can find the answer of my question here.
in our plant in a gas turbine,we use aeroshell3 turbine oil due to manufacture sugestion.the viscosity @40 of this oil is about 13CSt but after about one month operation,without any change in other characteristice,the vis. rise up to about 23.this is similar in 5 GTs we have in site.
i want to discover the reason & the remedy to cure it?

this really abig increase i think it is higher than acceptable limt(about 5%), the reason may be oxidation catalyized by moisture and wear metals or top up with wrong oil ,but do you sure that the frsh oil Vicosity is 13 this is not included in any ISO VG grades it seem like you are using 22 ISO VG grade oil

thanks for your attention,every month we check the water content & wear metals.both are less than their limits.the viscosity of new oil is also checked & was OK

Hi

Some times varnishing problems causes viscosity increasings. Check the Colour (ASTM D-1500) of your oil, and perform Varnish Potential Rating Test.
