Read our primer articles on Grease Guns and Oil Sight Glasses.

I am looking for a lubricant which can be added to the plastics such that there is no need for external lubrication. Purpose is to have good wear resistance and a low coefficient of friction which do not or slightly change over time (months) in sliding applications.

I have tested PTFE, Silicon Oil, some waxes and MoS2, also in combination. Did not get satisfactory results, mainly because friction increases over time and also wear resistance goes down. Loads are equal to a 1-2 kg weight and sliding speed goes maximum upto 1-2 meters per second.

1. Can anyone suggest from his/her experience some combination of lubricating additives or new additives including their suppliers to be used in plastics for internal lubrication.

2. Another question is that are there mineral oils etc that can outperform silicon oil when added to plastics, i.e., low coefficient of friction.
Many thanks for you time and suggestions.
