Read our primer articles on High Mileage Oil, Synthetic Oil and Kinematic Viscosity

I use my car every day, and I’m debating whether paint protection film is worth it. I see some people getting full-body coverage, while others only do high-impact areas. Is it necessary to cover the whole car, or is a partial application enough? Also, how does PPF compare to ceramic coatings in terms of protection? If anyone has done this, I’d love to hear about the experience and whether the cost was justified.

If you drive daily, PPF is a game changer. I looked into PPF for car when I started noticing small chips on my front bumper. I went to Tintex, and they explained the different coverage options. I ended up getting PPF on the front bumper, hood, and mirrors—these are the areas that take the most hits from road debris. Unlike ceramic coatings, which mainly help with cleaning and shine, PPF actually absorbs impact and prevents damage. The material is self-healing, so minor scratches disappear with heat. It’s not cheap, but compared to the cost of repainting or fixing deep scratches, it’s a no-brainer for a daily driver.
