ISO 4407 Reference Patches

Read our primer articles on Oil Analysis and Tribology

We use Microscope analysis as back-up for problematic samples - where our Hiac Rayco and Pall counters gives erratic results.
(Uneven particle distribution - dark samples etc.etc.)
However, have difficulties to obtain reference patches for ISO 4407.
Any that know of a source out there?

I'd suggest you contact PALL. They have a booklet called "Comparator" (for use with Pall portable contamination kit). Each ISO code has a corresponding photograph of the filter patch. Hydac also use to do one.

Document your findings with a digital microscope camera. One suggestion is http://www.paxcam.com/pdfs/PAXcam_Industrial_np2.pdf Many othere available on-line.

If uou measure and you don't document it isn't data.
