Read our primer articles on Grease Guns and Oil Sight Glasses.

I am looking for a list of companies like Noria active and present in Western Europe.

The companies I am looking for will provide one or more of the following services:

Total Lubrication Management

Consultancy activities like audits and surveys, advise on lubrication (Quality and quantity), systems, warehousemanagement, condition monitoring, oil analysis etc....

I am not looking for manufacturers like Fuchs or so, but Pure service companies.

I hope someone can help me on this issue.

Good Day,

Perhaps this thread could turn into a discussioin on what constitutes "Total Lubrication Management"
I have used that term in the past to be the cradle to grave school of thought where the group responsible would determine the appropriate products to use (lube audit) source the appropriate product (cost considerations) manage the product (warehouse - stock) and deliver product to site and train or use it's own employees to maintain - sample(analyse and interpret recommend action - change, top-up etc the lubricants. So if that is what you are looking for most of the Major lube suppliers Mobil/Exxon - Castrol- Shell etc etc etc. Will provide that service. They mainly prefer to use their own products but the do subcontract (Tier 2-3 suppliers) to provide product and speciality services. What you need to consider is writing up a scope of "Offer of Service" detailing what you expect and require and then to let them fight for your business.

Any thoughts on these comments???

regards......
The oil companies core buisness is to sell lube oil and other products by the gallon ( or litre as we say in Norway) Our experience is that they don't always keep an objective view on their recommendations. My recommendation is that you use an impartial company to survey your needs and be a part of the prosess.

I agree 100% with the above message. For larger companies,It is always better to source the required services from independant specialist company so the opinion obtained is unbiased. Incase you seek oil suppliers assistance, will it be a free meal? No, their services cost are builtup with oil oroduct cost indirectly.

In today scenario the customer is sometimes more intelligent than the lubricant supplier as he appoints a lube specialist to cordinate the so called Total Lubrication Solution. The basis on which these services are fixed on reduction of cost of lube component /per product produced by 10 % the first year and lesser in the comming years, which is no big joke.
Dear People

In reference to this issue, I agree that the main objetive of Lubricant Suppliers has been always to improve their Lubricant Sales. Anyway this is changing, because the customers are more intelligent that the Lubricant Suplliers. Also, it exist some Company focused in "Giving Solutions" for each problem. You know that the solution isn't "change the oil" in all the time. When you are looking for a independent company for helping you in some lubrication problem, you have two possible choices:

1- Only consultant company. They could analyze your problem and give you a list of action you must perform, in order to improve your reliability.

2- A Company capable to implement the solution in your company. I am talking about "Outsourcing". In this case, you need a Company that be able to apply some different solutions, like:
  • Elaboration of a Complete Program of Lubrication
  • Oil Analysis Program.
  • Oil Purification on-site with diferent technologies (Filtration, Water Removal, BCRA Tecnologies).
  • Flushing Programs for Outages.
  • Automatization of the Lubrication (when this is possible).
  • Possibility Of making Oil Changes from Technologies of Group I, towards Group II, III or synthetic.

In Summary, the capacity is due to look for to also generate a Plan Complete of Lubrication and the way to implement it through a Specialist Company that counts on the possibility of making the Service or to provide to the Technology and the Necessary Knowledge.

    Best Regards,
    Cristián Schmid.
