In the NORIA wall chart sampling procedures there are some lubrication systems which I have some difficulties to translate. The systems are: Vented Bottle Bath Oiler, Un-Vented Bottle bath oiler, Wet Sump and Dry Sump. Maybe if I have examples of these kind of lubrication systems, I might find a term. Can anyone give examples of such systems or give a translation to portuguese or spanish?

Bottle Bath Oilers are also referred to as Constant Level Oilers. All constant level oilers need air to function properly and where the source of this air comes from designates whether it is vented (air is from the surrounding environment) or un-vented (air supply is same as the air in the head space of the rotating equipment). I work for Trico Mfg. Corp. and we manufacture different types of constant level oilers, see http://www.tricomfg.com for more details on the products and applications. In Circulating Lubricaiton Systems, wet or dry sump refers to whether there is a pre-determined volume of oil always present in the equipment. A circulating wet sump would contain a specific volume of oil in the reservoir, where a dry ciruclating system does not have a specific volume.
Do these lubrication systems have anything to do with mist lubrication? There are many different terms applied to lubrication systems: Don´t Pressure lubrication, circulating lubrication and centralized lubrication designate the same type of system? And what about bath lubrication and ring and stream lubrication? Aren´t the same also?
The verbage auto lube covers a very broad spectrum of automated lubrication systems. The term Wet sump orginally refered to crankcase lubrication of either automotive or aero engines in which there was a quantity of lubricant contained in the crankcase or bearing housings which in turn was swept up by scoops to the journals near this reservoir and supplied under pressure from a simple gear pump to areas remote from this simple splash system.
Dry sump is the termanolgy used to describe the pressurized deliverey of lubricant to all points requiring lubricant and then by gravity to a point where it collects and is returned to a reservoir where it is prepared for its next trip to the bearing points.
The term auto lubrication should be further broken down into the following terminolgy
Gravity ?????
Pressurized ____ lube cups
Single line positive Lincoln Centromatic
Single Line progessive Lincoln Modular,, Trabon
Dual line Lincoln Helios,,,, Farval

The manufactures are many but thes are the major ones

Coments????
