Microencapsulation of Industrial Lubricants

Has anyone ever heard about the microencapsulation of industrial lubricants? Where would I be able get information on this topic? Are there any companies out there that already use this technology for the controlled release of lubricating oils, i.e. in motor vehicles?

The closest one I know of is a company in Massachuttes USA who is using nanotubes to encapsulate anti-oxidants.
