ConocoPhillips announced the introduction of "Liquid Titanium" additive technology to two of its heavy-duty engine oils. Claiming a "New era of engine protection", the anti-wear additive does not contain phosphorus and reportedly outperforms ZDDP.

Interesting. It does sound as though it should make a wonderful additive according to what I'm reading so far.

This could be the start of a new era of snake oils and such.

It seems that titanium and molybdenium are a common compound. I wonder how many companies are going to jump on the "titanium" bandwagon by adding a minimal amount to plain old moly. Titanium is expensive to refine albeit a very common mineral.

A friend just sent me some info on this new product-Phillips 10w-30 CJ-4 oil with Titanium

Good pricing ,good TBN , zinc is plenty + 100ppm titanium and pour point is lower than Trop Artic Syn/Blend 5w-30 PCMO
