I would use Schaeffer's VarniClean. It's an in-service solution limiting downtown and still achieving exceptional results. Not much more effort than a routine PM, no added expense for external filtration systems, no special equipment. Can be used for light or heavy contamination by altering the dilution percentage and in-service time without altering minimual downtown for normal PM. The important part of flushing and filtration is that it cleans the internal gearing. Simply performing an oil change leaves much of the dirt and contamination behind in the system. Performing a continuous hot flush cleans the oil to be cleaner than new oil and also cleans the internal components. There is significant savings by extending life of the oil and extending life of machine components.

We recently performed a flush on a CAT 994 wheel loader differential assembly which illustrates the importance of flushing and filtration over doing an oil change.
