Turbine oils have a very long life compared to most other industrial oils. Condition based monitoring usually offers the greatest value over time by extending the usefull life of the lubricant. There are many instances in industry where large circulating systems use the same lubricant ten years or longer. The size of the system and cost of your monitoring program would be factors in your decision. If you are already using oil analysis as an early warning tool then you are already spending the money and probably have the data you need to base service life decisions upon.
