Reliablity / Cost question?

i have a question for you Maintenance and Engineering professionals;

In the past there use to be some reliability/cost comparisons between the % of downtime related failures being root caused by fluid contamination issues. In the past companies use to claim 75%-80%, but I am curious if anyone has some recent studies more up to date?
