Dear All,

I am working on a project in which I intend to use water in oil sensors for monitoring water quantity in our turbine oil (Teresso 46). The water in oil sensors indicate water quantity in percent saturation. Therefore, I need a saturation curve of Teresso 46 to convert a certain percent saturation number into ppm of water quantity and also it will be used to validate the information provided by the sensor. We contacted Imperial Oil to obtain this curve but were not successful.

A. Do you have this curve?, if yes,
B. Will you be willing to share a copy of this curve with us?
C. If you don't have the curve, can you advise of a contact that may be able to help?
D. Can Noria help in this matter?

Thank you,

Shahbaz

Shahbaz,
I don't want to say your goal is impossible to achieve, but you are up for very steep uphill battle. Different types of base oils have different water saturation points, and additionally varies at different viscosities. Once they are blended, their saturation point is also affected based on the types and amounts of additives added. On top of that, all saturation points are additionally individually but differently affected by oil temperature variations. It is also affected by levels and types of contaminants present (which constantly changes) in oils. Having said all this, it is not surprising to me that the data you’re seeking is unavailable.
However, your goal is very noble and I wish you luck in reaching it.
