A customer consulted me that they bought a swift oil analysis device from SKF named TMEH1. I checked the user guide and found that the oil drain was determined by dielectric constant mearsurement. I don't think the methord is correct and scientific. Anyone could give me help?

dielectric strength is good for transformer oils. for bearing oils (if you are refering to) there are other better parameters to track.

In general,the servicebility of the Transformer oils are assessed by measuring the break down voltage[Dielectric Constant].Contamination can alter this property.

IS:6792 - 1972,deals with this parameter.
