Hi, I know of no chemical to decrease your TAN. Analyzing the oil to check your TAN, its possible to decrease the TAN without replacing the whole tank of oil. Replenish with your normal oil you use and then check your TAN. That is the only way to decrease your TAN, other than stop the cause of the increase of acid number- Hope this helps- Brett
TAN of hydraulic oil new should be always less than 1.
Our DNR Corp HYD oil68 has TAN of 0.00022 means if it gets mixed with metal working fluid than also it will not contaminate MWF.Hence life of MWF will increase drastically. In case of injection machines this oil will outperform because to reach tan of more than 1 it will take around 10000 hrs.

Total acid number can be reduced but it depends on type of oil and economy.
You should consider that type of acids in different oil have different effects. for example some synthetic oil like quintolubric are producing weak fatty acids which has no considerable corrosive effects on system but affects fire resistance properties. These type of fluids have a vast permitted acidity up to 8 mgKOH/gr oil but in mineral oils several times of less TAN have a severe corrosive effects on parts.
The last technology for removing acids from oil is ION EXCHANGE ELEMENTS but they are so expensive and is economic only for expensive oils like phosphate ester or polyolester fluids.
