Read our primer article on Infrared Thermography.

What uses can you have using thermal imagers. From resarch i know that they can be used in heat loss in buildings, medical uses, and even mechanical. Does anyone know of any other uses. Is there a market out there to perform thermal assesments on buildings or do these building contractors do it themselves?

The biggest use we have by far for I/R at our plant is electrical. The number of degraded connections we find on equipment, from newly installed to orginally installed is surprising. Terminations often show degradation on our scheduled routes.

Any business that can lose $$$ due to down time should have Thermography performed on their electrical switchgear/ panels. I think there is a lack of knowledge as to the benefits of Thermography by business.
