Dear Forum Member ,

We want to dehydrate Heavy Fuel oil 380 CST with 3 % water. We heat the oil to 60 'c and set the vacuum to 27 in hg. Initially the a lot of water is evaporated almost immediately.

But certain amount of water still remains even after increasing the temperate and vacuum level. Upon analyzing the oil its found that the oil becomes more viscous and emulsified water.

Could anyone extend support by proving us tips on how to solve this problem ? Does Heavy fuel oil hold on to water ?

regards,
Ridwan
