Dear all,
thank you for ur details.
we are using 15w-40 petromin oil.

Michelle:
our generators are operating in saudi arabia and the oxidation result in the oil analysis is almost about 19.00 so does it effect on the viscosity?

Note that, we had this problem befor on same engine, as action we replaced the Fuel Pump and it work ok for 2 weeks and get back to low viscosity.

therefore if the fuel dilution is the reason? what can we do and what can we check / replace if necessary?

Regards,
When interpreting results, all factors should be considered together.
Assuming use of a 15W-40 oil then this would suggest 1/ fuel dilution 2/ polymer shear or thirdly and most unlikely in Saudi is the use of 10W-30 .Analysis shows results to be like a 10W-30 with no polymer shear.
For 1/ Check new oil and additive levels and also flash point, compare with used oil results and any history. To achieve this drop in viscosity some fuel has to be present.
For 2/ Polymer shear is unlikely as VI is ~140
Fuel by FTIR well worth checking and also by GC, provided fuel is run , new oil and used oil(expensive)
Oxidation looks moderate but will tend to slightly thicken the oil anyway.
