Could anyone clarify what is the Megalite Solid Lubricants contain in many grease? I've never heard of any information about this solid lubricants type before. I can see the glitter powder mixed in the grease and they claim as a solid lubricants to reduce friction and wear also withstanding more pressure.

Could anyone help explaining this for me? It'll be a high appreciation. Thank you!

Megalite is/was smoke and mirrors. the real reason those products in the grease form worked so well way back then was because of the base oil which was about 1000 cSt, the gritter fleck was fine none oxidised Aluminium particles which did add a light amount of boundary additive but not a significant amount,
There are far better boundary additive products on the market in 2011,

Yes...I agree with rttech. If you will allow, I would like to offer more detail to explain the "smoke and mirrors". Megalite is what the company calls it. The additive is Aluminum-Magnesium-Sulfite. It is one of the earliest friction modifiers used. Basically derived from clay and finely ground then colloidially suspended in the grease. Capable of forming slippage planes it offers minimal boundary lubrication as explained. It is significantly inferior to Molybdinum Disulfide as an example.
