Iron(Fe) in Diesel Engine

In our facility have two caterpillar diesel engine(Model ZAN 9160&8560)using Caltex 15W40 lube oil which are normally in standby but we have found Iron level increasing(>100ppm). Usually sampling done from the filter upstream.,
All other parameters are in normal trend.
Please suggest the possible source of Iron(Fe)

Was the case happened in one single engine only? or it is a common situation in your several other similar engines?
