Zerk verification

Hello,

I am the Quality Control Tech at a caster assembly facility. Over the last 3 weeks, we have had assemblies come back that were not greased before shipping them to the customer. What I am trying to achieve, is a way to mark the part at the same time we are greasing the zerk fitting. This would be a one time thing before we ship to our customers. I have seen RFID's and ultrasonic, but those won't work if my guys don't put the grease gun on the zerk in the first place. I want something that I can visually see after it has been greased, i.e. a paint dot or an additive that you could see with black light.

Any ideas?

Check out a company called SAE PRODUCTS. They have a bunch of different style caps for zerk fittings, you may be able to use. I understand that it does not completely solve the problem of actual greasing of the fitting. The cap can be placed on after it is greased. Also a nice way to keep the fitting clean.
