I have sample of used engine oil that i tried to treat with fullers earth in a pilot plant to check the quality, productivity and yield capacity of the oil.
The process that i tried is as follows...
1. Mixed oil with fullers earth.
2. Heat applied till 350 to 380 degree Celsius.
3. Stopped the application of heat and let the oil cool down.
4. Filtered it using some filtration paper.
Now here are the problems that i encountered.
1. The oil started boiling if a lot of heat was applied to it and even came out from the plant itself.
2. After the temperature crosses 130 degrees the oil never boils, Although to achieve that temperature a lot of control on the heating was required which is not possible in the actual plant. (Using Wood generated heat)
3. Even though doing all that and taking the temperature upto 380, the resulting product that came out was dark green in color.
Please anyone help me.
P.S ( The oil was pre heated so had less than 1% of water. And i was told the flsh pint of the used oil was 75 to 80 deg Cel. )
